Whether you're looking for an outdoor experience for your family of 8 (yikes!), an empty-nester couple with a comfortable RV, or a backpacking experience for 1 or 2, you've come to the right place. Door County camping can be a wonderful way to experience your vacation . You will find on this site the pros and cons of all the various campgrounds on the peninsula. Both private and state have their unique advantages, and not one place has it all.
My family and I have done a lot of camping in Door County over the years. One of my earliest camping memories is from Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek. We currently live in Appleton, but are frequently making plans to spend vacation time in the Door Peninsula.
Camping isn't for everyone, but for those of us who love it it's a great way to spend some quality family time, or quality solo wilderness time. And for those who aren't into the camping lifestyle... well, that just leaves more smores for us :) !
There are also many great small hotels and bed-and-breakfasts.
