Door County campgrounds are some of the most beautiful and relaxing places in Door County, Wisconsin. Camping is one of the greatest ways to spend some quality family time away from the TV and game station.

Getting out to enjoy Door County campgrounds is definitely time well spent. Especially at our great state parks: Peninsula, Potowatomi, and Newport.


Even if you're not into a lot of outdoor activity, just lounging around your campsite to enjoy the quiet can be incredibly soothing. Grab a hammock and a good book to while away the hours. Heck, maybe even a cold brewsky-- this is Wisconsin, ya know ;).


Door County campgrounds are a great way to spend vacation time in this magnificent peninsula. And you don't even need a tent or camper to enjoy this pasttime. Many of the campgrounds have cabins or yurts for rent. Wagontrail and Tranquil Timbers have some of the nicest (if you have a different opinion, we'd love to hear about it!)

Aqualand Camp Resort

Baileys Bluff Campground
Baileys Bluff Campground, 2701 County Road EE, Baileys Harbor, WI. A heavily wooded campground on the bluff above the cute town of Baileys Harbor.

Baileys Grove Campground
Baileys Grove Campground 2552 County Road F & EE, Baileys Harbor, WI. Make this your base camp for your fishing excursions into Lake Michigan.

Beantown Campground
Beantown Campground, 8400 County Hwy F, Baileys Harbor, WI. Brand New, clean, well-maintained.

Egg Harbor Campground
Egg Harbor Campground and RV Resort, 8164 Hwy 42, Egg Harbor, WI. Check out their new cabins and bath house.

Frontier Wilderness Campground
Frontier Wilderness Campground, 4375 Hillside Rd., Egg Harbor, WI. A nice indoor pool and huge recreation room.

Lynch's Bluff Campground
Lynch's Bluff Campground, Brussels, WI.

Newport State Park
Newport State Park, 475 County Hwy NP, Ellison Bay, WI. Great hiking and cross country ski trails. A nice beach, too.

Path of Pines
Path of Pines, 3709 Hwy F, Fish Creek, WI. Almost walking distance to Fish Creek.

Peninsula State Park
Peninsula State Park, 9462 Shore Road, Fish Creek, WI. This is the gem of Door County. In my opinion it's the best state park in Wisconsin!

Potawatomi State Park
Potawatomi State Park, 3740 County PD, Sturgeon Bay, WI. A nice and quiet state park on the south end of the Door Peninsula that offers a couple-hour drive to Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, and the Sister Bay area (depending on traffic).

Quietwoods South, Brussels, WI
Quietwoods South, 9245 Lovers Lane, Brussels, WI. A cozy family feeling here. Many seasonal sites.

Tranquil Timbers RV Resort
Tranquil Timbers RV Resort, 3668 Grondin Rd., Sturgeon Bay, WI. Just south of Sturgeon Bay and very close to Potowatomi State Park. Nice pools, camp store, WiFi throughout camp.

Washington Island Camping Retreat
Washington Island Camping Retreat, 745 Eastside Rd., Washington Island, WI. Make this your base camp for exploring and enjoying Washington Island.

Wagon Trail Campground
Wagon Trail Campground, 1190 Hwy ZZ, Ellison Bay, WI. Off the beaten path, but well worth your drive here. Clean and up-scale atmosphere.
