Egg Harbor Campground & RV Resort offers easy access to the "main thoroughfare" (Hwy 42) of Door County. This campground is probably the most accessible of any campground I visited so far (if you have a different opinion on this, let me know).
But, having easy access to Hwy 42 also allows more traffic noise into your quiet camping experience. I'm sure having a site more toward the back side of the campground would fix much of that problem, though.
The middle-aged, but very clean, camp store is accompanied by a small game room and lounge. Their pool is clean and inviting.
There is an older metal playset toward the front in the campground (with a sign saying it was closed), but a much nicer wooden set toward the back. The sandy area in the foreground of the picture must be the "sand box". If I were a kid I'd still find that pretty inviting.
A wonderfully clean, brand new bath house has been built toward the north end of camp. Ask for a site close to this new building if you make regular runs to the bathroom at night.
The only thing I'd recommend is to ditch the old A-frame camping cabins. They don't seem very inviting or comfortable.
Also, The Orchards Golf Course is right behind Egg Harbor Campground, which is great if you're into golfing there. It seems like a beatiful course.

Things to do inEgg Harbor, WI
Birch Creek Music Center has a small concert series during the summer. It appears they're primarily in the business of music instruction to students, but have an occasional public performance. Tickets range from $6 for children to $27 for adults. They're at 3821 County Rd E, Egg Harbor.There is a self-guided Lighthouse Tour arranged by the Door County Lighthouse Inn. $55 for a couple and $35 for one person. Egg Harbor Fun Park has lots of indoor games when the weather isn't great, and miniature golf and Water Wars outside. They're at 7340 Highway 42, Egg Harbor, WI. 920-868-9417.
Just south of Egg Harbor a bit is Plum Loco Farm for Kids. A nice petting zoo of farm animals along with other seasonal activities. Address is 4431 Plum Bottom Rd., Egg Harbor, WI. Phone is 920-743-1617.
