Path of Pines

Fish Creek, WI

The big advantage for Path of Pines Campground is its location. It's a short bike ride to Fish Creek and all it has to offer (personally Fish Creek is my favorite spot on the Peninsula). It's even close enough you could walk if you're really ambitious--and have good shoes for walking on pavement.

It appears that the Path of Pines campground has been around for awhile and needs a little TLC. It doesn't offer much but the very basics. No pool, no mini golf, an aging playset and shuffleboards. The grass needs mowing. There's waste oil spread on the gravel drives to keep down the dust (can they do that?), which is not the most pleasant odor on a hot day.

The south entrance of Peninsula State Park is even closer to Path of Pines than "downtown" Fish Creek. And there is swimming available at a small beach in Fish Creek, and in the Park. Make sure to inquire about the water quality before jumping in--although they should have it posted on the beach. When the weather gets really warm the bacteria really love it.

The bath house IS nice and clean, which is also a priority for me. And there is a nice park-like feel to the place with sites nicely spaced apart.
